CVE-2026-34908

About

A malicious actor with access to the network could exploit an Improper Access Control vulnerability found in UniFi OS devices to make unauthorized changes to the system.

Weakness (CWE):CWE-284

Rainforest analyst review

This is an improper access-control flaw in UniFi OS devices: an attacker with network access can make unauthorized changes to the system because a privileged function does not properly enforce who may call it. There is no exploit chain or memory corruption involved, just a missing authorization boundary, but the scope-change rating and full impact reflect that the changes an attacker can make reach system-level control of the device.

The affected products span Ubiquiti's UniFi gateways, dream machines, cloud keys, and network video recorders, the routing, controller, and storage devices that anchor small-business and prosumer networks and increasingly larger deployments. Compromising one gives an attacker control over the network's edge and the ability to alter configuration, which is a strong pivot point inward, and network appliances of this kind are routinely scanned and harvested at scale. Apply the fixed UniFi OS firmware promptly across all affected devices. As a structural measure, ensure device and controller management interfaces are not exposed to the internet and are reachable only from trusted management networks, reducing the population of devices an attacker can reach in the first place.
